Temple Hollowness

As we age there are a number of changes that occur in our faces. Primarily these are in our skin, our facial volume and also there are changes in our facial bony skeleton. These changes account for some characteristic signs of ageing.

Condition

Temple Hollowness

As we age there are a number of changes that occur in our faces. Primarily these are in our skin, our facial volume and also there are changes in our facial bony skeleton. These changes account for some characteristic signs of ageing.

One of these signs that’s often missed is emptiness or hollowness of the temples.

The temple houses a chewing muscle and fat, both of which become less prominent with age. This can lead to a wasted, older appearance and also drops the tail of the eyebrow lower than it should sit which can give a tired or angry appearance.

Volume replacement with a dermal fillers such as Juvederm voluma adequately treats this area to regain a healthy volume to the temples, smoothes the transition between forehead and temple and can raise the outside third of the eyebrow.

Treatment of the temples is often needed in the treatment of the tear trough.
